The Arewa Traders Association is Africa's largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy in Nigeria. Our members range from the small businesses, self employed, and companies that line the Main Streets of Nigeria to leading industries in the country.
Our members all share one thing: They count on the Arewa Traders Association to be their voice in FCT Abuja, across the country, and around the world. For almost a decade, we have advocated for pro-business strategies that help businesses create jobs and grow our economy.
What We Stand For
Every day, Nigerian businesses are serving people, solving problems, and saving lives. They are creating jobs—and with them, opportunity, security, and prosperity—in communities all across the country. This is hard work, with many uncertainties and obstacles, but Nigeria's job creators get up and do it every day because they believe in the power of business to be a force for good in our society.
At the Arewa Traders Association, we get up every day to help them do it. The government plays a role, too. With the right decisions, our leaders can help rather than hinder business-led growth. That’s why we fight for the policies we need to help businesses lead our economy our of the worst downturn since the Great Depression and fight against the crippling partisanship that stymies progress.
Businesses need the right regulatory environment, trade agenda, legal system, workforce policies, and rules for the modern economy in order to drive the growth that will lift our country and help our people.
Arewa Traders association is the body and umbrella of companies, traders, farmers, artisans and small business operators across 19 Northern States of Nigeria and FCT Abuja.
The organization works to improve businesses by helping its members with the strategies of running their business in an organized and profitable way as well as getting involved with the Governmental and Non-governmental supports on grants, loans, and training within and outside Nigeria. The organization is registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission and is located at the heart of FCT Abuja, Central Business District.
We started in 2014 as representatives of traders across Northern states, hoping to resolve issues with traders unable to access support. Today we provide members various services from educational materials, access to industry funding, networking opportunities, government collaboration, professional development, and other support programs. We work with International organizations, government agencies, consumer protection organizations and others on behalf of our nearly 100 thousands member companies. One of the most pivotal roles we play is through our commitment to self-regulation and business support Ethics.
We connect members with the kind of networking, knowledge, people and programs that make achieving their company objectives more efficient and effective.
